While updates to current'probable'maximum'precipitation'(PMP) amounts'are'generally not accepted as a credible outcome of rising ambient temperatures, future increases to the'PMP'amounts'will'directly'affect'probable'maximum'flood (PMF) estimates, leading to potential issues with'safely'passing the PMF. Consequently,'owners and regulators could'be faced with expensive mitigation,'such as'providing'additional'spillway capacity'to handle these potentially larger runoff events. This session focuses on understanding the current state of PMP evaluation'and'the'potential for future increases to PMP and PMF estimates.
