July 12, 2023
Booth #832, Exhibit Floor
Knowledge Hub: Innovations and Case Studies

Acoustic telemetry has become a more powerful and useful tool for monitoring the behavior and survival of tagged aquatic animals due to recent advancements. These advancements include smaller, more powerful, and longer-lasting transmitters that can sense multiple parameters, as well as the use of machine learning to process large data sets and improve 3D tracking. The main focus of this presentation is the development of a real-time cloud-based acoustic telemetry system that enables users to obtain behavior and survival information in real-time, which could aid in making timely decisions regarding hydropower operations.
