Although pumped storage hydropower (PSH) is a reliable, tried and tested, mature technology, there are emerging innovations and technological advancements that are presenting new opportunities for improvements in efficiency, competitiveness, and economic viability. This session will bring together diverse perspectives to discuss innovations to the conventional PSH model and the critical role of sustained development and innovation to help overcome financing and policy barriers related to PSH and move the technology forward.
