Advances in computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis now allow engineers to accurately optimize flows and reduce unwanted cavitation and induced vibrations while designing hardware for upgrade applications in older hydro turbine systems. The presentations in this session will show the successful use of CFD analysis to design both turbine runners and ancillary equipment for three discreet hydroelectric rebuild/upgrade projects.
