How Artificial Intelligence (AI) can be used to predict generator related failures Basler has developed technology that uses AI to predict failures of a generator. By continuously monitoring the generator and comparing it to its mathematical system model, we can provide early identification and warning of system operating changes which may be an indication of a developing catastrophic failure. Once identified preventative maintenance can be taken in to consideration before a forced outage is dictated and can eliminate the need for unplanned service interruptions. Basler has received a patent for the detection of incipient failures using AI.
