HYDROVISION® INTERNATIONAL IS COMING TO CHARLOTTE, N.C., JULY 11-13, 2023

(Shelton, CT, June 28, 2023) --- HYDROVISION International®, the world’s largest hydropower and dams industry event, is bringing together the global hydroelectric power community July 11-13, 2023, in Charlotte, N.C., U.S.

Clean, renewable energy is a vitally important contributor in the fight against global climate change, and hydroelectric power is the world’s oldest renewable energy source. This event allows those who work in and around these valuable energy facilities to work together to move forward in their efforts to keep hydropower plants operating efficiently, reliably and affordably.

In fact, hydroelectric plants have been operating for more than 100 years in many parts of the world, and they provide some of the lowest-cost electricity available. We recognize the impressive achievements of legacy hydropower plants through induction into the Hydro Hall of Fame. Three influential hydroelectric projects – in the U.S., Canada and Italy – will be inducted into the Hall of Fame for 2023 during the HYDROVISION International keynote session on Tuesday, July 11. During that keynote, our headliner speakers will represent the New York Power Authority, Ukrhydroenergo (the Ukrainian hydropower utility) and Industrial Info Resources.

Clarion Events will offer unparalleled opportunities for the industry to learn and network at HYDROVISION International. Among the extensive educational offerings are a two-day Waterpower Hydro Basics course, for those new to hydropower, a full-day in-the-field technical tour of a hydroelectric plant and hydropower research facilities, and two co-located workshops. One exciting offering, taking place Monday, July 10, is the 3rd Global Symposium for Large Hydropower Plant Operators, which brings together owners of some of the world’s largest hydroelectric projects (such as the 14,000 MW Itaipu plant between Brazil and Paraguay and the 6,809 MW Grand Coulee project in Washington State) to share their unique challenges and perspectives. The conference program features well over 60 educational sessions, with content delivered by about 150 industry experts. The Utility Executive Roundtable on Thursday, July 13, is a plenary session featuring insights and perspectives from C-level executives at hydropower utilities.

“The HYDROVISION 2023 program has been carefully curated to include topical features such as the Utility Executive Roundtable and the Women with Hydro Vision luncheon and education. The entire hydro power industry is vocally sharing its excitement to gather in Charlotte because they know they are going to get business done,” said Desiree Hanson, Executive Vice President of Clarion Events, Inc.

“One of the key foundations of HYDROVISION is our educational content. Whether you are just starting out in the industry and are taking our Waterpower Hydro Basics course or you are a veteran and interested in participating in our 35 total conference sessions across eight topical tracks to earn professional development hours, HYDROVISION has something to meet you where you are in the industry and in your career,” added Jamie Reesby, Hydro Portfolio Director of Clarion Energy at Clarion Events.

Knowing the importance of being together face to face to exchange lessons learned, Clarion Events ensured HYDROVISION International is the premier event for networking with peers. HYDROVISION features nearly 10 different opportunities, including Hydro Luncheon Roundtables, the Women with Hydro Vision lunch and awards program, and multiple receptions.

HYDROVISION International also features an exhibit hall with more than 150 companies providing products and services to the global hydropower and dams industry. More than 2,000 hydropower and dams professionals from more than 45 countries are expected to gather together in Charlotte starting July 10 to network, learn and do business.
