Antonio Fonseca dos Santos is a civil engineer from Paraná Federal University, Brazil and has a Master Degree in Hydrology and Water Resources from Colorado State University. He has been Environment and Sustainability Director for Brookfield Renewable Energy Group – Brazil since 2008. He has done work as independent environmental consultant and auditor for the Inter American Development Bank and World Bank. Since 2004 he has acted as environment director of the Brazilian Association of Independent Power Producers, through which he became founder and first coordinator (from 2005 to 2007) of the Brazilian Electric Sector Environment Forum. In April 2009 he was elected deputy councilman of the Brazilian National Water Resources Council.
