Blake Rothfuss
Blake Rothfuss is the Chief Engineer for Hetch Hetchy Water and Power, and has more than 39 years of hydroelectric and water supply experience across North America. He has worked on all phases of water resource projects—from planning and design, to construction, to asset assessment, to operations, and now senior management. As Chief Engineer, he leads the multi-disciplinary engineering department responsible for the: civil, mechanical, electrical engineering; land controls and survey; CAD drafting; SCADA; and project management/construction management.
Blake’s technical expertise is focused on hydraulic structures and water conveyance systems, including intake structures, tunnels, penstocks, and pipelines. As a project manager, Rothfuss has successfully delivered critical infrastructure and business projects ranging in size and complexity. He is also very familiar with underground safety practices, often consulting with owners and fellow engineers on safe work practices.
Mr. Rothfuss earned his MBA from St. Mary’s College of California and his BS in Civil Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley. He is a Licensed Professional Engineer in the state of California and is certified as a Diplomate Water Resources Engineer by the American Academy of Water Resources Engineers.
