Brian Saez has over 20 years of experience in hydroelectric and transmission operations with the New York Power Authority. He has served as NYPA’s Senior Vice President of Power Supply since 2021, with oversight of NYPA’s transmission system and its 16 power generating facilities, including its two large-scale hydroelectric plants, pumped storage, small hydro and its fossil fleet, which produce a substantial portion of New York’s statewide power needs. NYPA generates 25 % of New York’s power and 80 % of that is renewable hydropower. Saez joined the Power Authority as an apprentice operator in 2001. Following promotions with increasing levels of responsibility in the Operations group, Saez was named operations supervisor in 2007 and shortly thereafter became superintendent of Operations and was named Regional Manager for Central New York in 2014. He holds a Bachelor of Science in industrial engineering from the State University of New York at Buffalo and has a Master’s degree in business administration from New York University’s Stern School of Business.
