Dan Parker is the Hydropower Practice Lead for Alden which provides expert services for operations, licensing, relicensing, and mitigation for hydropower facilities throughout North America. Alden is a member of Verdantas, a nationwide environmental and engineering services company. Dan has more than 37 years of experience in the hydropower industry in the areas of environmental and license compliance, FERC licensing and relicensing, operations and business development. He has supervised crews operating and maintaining over 130 MW of hydro and has been a team member relicensing projects from 1 MW to 912 MW. From 2015-2023, he managed or contributed to successfully acquiring of over 520 MW of operating hydroelectric generating assets. He has also pursued and evaluated the acquisition and development of solar PV, wind energy, energy storage, and hydrogen generating opportunities throughout the US. Dan has served on the executive boards of 4 hydroelectric companies. He also operates 45north Renewable Energy, LLC, providing due diligence and consulting services for hydropower acquisitions. In his spare time, he enjoys hunting, SCUBA diving and spending time with his grandchildren.
