Girish Behal is Vice President of Projects and Business development at New York Power Authority. Girish has worked in the Power Industry for more than 20 years in various capacities at different organizations. Girish has experience in various aspects of Project Development and Execution in the Power industry and has been actively engaged in project origination and development for Transmission, Energy Storage and Renewable energy for the last 7 years.

Girish, in his current role at NYPA leads an innovative and a solutions-oriented team that originates and develops High Voltage Onshore and Offshore Transmission and Grid Scale Energy Storage projects including overseeing project licensing supporting the overall energy transition goals of New York State. Girish’s team is responsible for Public-Private collaborations related to their focus areas. This team has over $12 BN in Transmission projects under active execution with a healthy pipeline in excess of $8 BN.

Girish has an engineering background with a Masters in Electrical Engineering with a Power system concentration and an MBA from Simon Business School. He is a PMP (Project Management Professional), an active Senior Member of IEEE and committee member of Sustainability Committee for Katonah-Lewisboro School System.
