James Boag is a Principal Mechanical Engineer at McMillen, Inc. (McMillen) where he has worked for the last four years. Previously James worked for USACE Portland and Seattle Districts and Chelan County PUD. James’ entire 20-year career has been focused on the engineering, construction, and operation of water resources projects. Sixteen of those years were on the owner/operator's side, including six years directly in plant operations and maintenance. James has been involved in managing, designing, and rehabilitating numerous spillway gate projects. Specific design elements include gate operators, gate rollers, seals, concrete guide frames, and lifting beams. He has led condition assessments, design, installation, and repairs for in-service equipment. Currently James is managing four spillway gate replacement/refurbishment projects. As a firm, McMillen is currently performing engineering and/or construction services on 10 spillway gate projects. McMillen is a design and build firm specializing in the water resources industry, including energy, fisheries, and dam related projects.
