John Easton
Chief, Technical Operations Branch,
US Army Corps of Engineers
I am a registered engineer with the state of Oregon and graduated from Oregon State University with a BS in Mechanical Engineering; I have a Masters from Portland State in Engineering Management. I started my engineering career with the Portland District Corps of Engineers in 2000. I worked 15 years in our District’s Construction Branch (project engineer, team lead, Resident Engineer, and Deputy Branch Chief), working on a variety of capital improvement contracts, many of which involved hydropower systems within the 13 powerhouses in our District. I moved over to Operations Division in 2015 as the Chief of Technical Operations Branch. My branch provides technical support to the Operating Projects in our District in the areas of fish passage, environmental compliance, natural resource management, acquisitions, apprenticeship training, electrical reliability, cybersecurity, asset management, load handling equipment, dive/ROV/UAS inspections, and hydropower test and evaluation.
