Rocío Uría-Martínez
Rocío Uría-Martínez is a Senior R&D staff member in the Environmental Sciences Division at ORNL. In her role as research economist, her work focuses on energy market data analysis and modeling of energy systems and markets using optimization and statistical methods. She has explored a broad range of topics related to energy systems from the perspectives of market efficiency, resilience, and/or environmental performance. On hydropower, apart from being lead author for the four editions of the Hydropower Market Report released to date, she has contributed to other analyses such as the effects of climate change on federal hydropower, modeling of PSH operations and revenue, and cost allocation in multipurpose hydropower projects. Rocío received her Ph.D. in Agricultural and Resource Economics from the University of California, Davis. Before joining ORNL in 2010, she worked as market analyst for Iberdrola.
