As Senior Director – Generation Projects, Stéphane Jean leads a team of 300
specialists who carry out the company’s projects to refurbish and build hydroelectric
facilities. He is currently overseeing Hydro-Québec’s largest project: the construction of
the Romaine complex, which represents an investment of over $7 billion.
He is recognized for his contribution to the evolution of occupational health and safety
culture and his leadership within Hydro-Québec and among the construction industry
stakeholders.
Stéphane Jean previously served as site manager and project administrator in several
phases of the Romaine complex. He also worked as an engineering administrator
on the Chute-Allard and Rapides-des-Cœurs hydropower projects in the Haute-Mauricie
region.
Holding a bachelor’s degree in unified engineering (mechanical option) from Université
du Québec à Chicoutimi, he joined Hydro-Québec some 15 years ago. Stéphane Jean
has also held management positions in hydropower structure refurbishment initiatives
and in the industrial sector.
