"In the heart of Nepal's rural landscape, amidst the majestic Himalayas, Usha Khatiwada's journey stands as a testament to resilience, empowerment, and sustainable development. From her humble origins in Kathmandu to her global acclaim as a pioneer in the hydro sector, Usha's narrative is one of inspiration and profound impact. Beginning with her Master's degree in Rural Development from Tribhuvan University, Usha embarked on a mission to uplift communities through sustainable infrastructure and investment. Her career path led her through various roles, each contributing to her expertise. As the CEO of NRN Infrastructure & Development Ltd, she championed hydropower projects, driving Nepal's growth forward. A pivotal moment in Usha's journey was her instrumental role in securing funds from the global NRN community for hydropower projects across Nepal. With her strategic vision, projects like the Dordi Khola and Likhu Hydropower Projects became a reality, bringing clean energy and economic opportunities to remember."

"From a young age, the seeds of innovation were already being sown for the founder of Thordon Bearings Inc. Back in Grade 6, a young visionary crafted a scale model of a small community, complete with houses, roads, and even hydropower lines. The heart of this miniature world was a water turbine, ingeniously fashioned from a bicycle DC generator and powered by an overshot wheel. Despite its functional challenges, the model captured the essence of potential—lights twinkled within the tiny houses, illuminating not just the project but a path forward. This early endeavor not only clinched the best project award but sparked a lifelong passion. Today, that spark has grown into a blazing trail with Thordon Bearings Inc. at the forefront of designing and building state-of-the-art turbines. What began as a school project has transformed into a leading enterprise, dedicated to advancing the technology that once inspired a child to dream big. Now, those dreams are not just lighting up miniature houses but powering real change in the world of hydropower engineering."

"In the innovative corridors of Centigrade Ind. Inc., a groundbreaking journey is unfolding. Here, engineers and visionaries have collaborated to birth a prototype that could redefine the norms of hydrokinetic energy. Dubbed a marvel of modern engineering, this turbine isn't just efficient—it's boasting a power coefficient that stretches up to an astounding 2.0. The genesis of this turbine began in the meticulous world of computer simulations. Initial experimental tests conducted in air not only confirmed the predictions made by Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations but also set the stage for what promises to be a game-changing revelation in renewable energy sources. As the turbine prepares for its water trials, the buzz within the halls of Centigrade Ind. Inc. is palpable. This is the first step toward potentially changing how the world harnesses the power of moving water. Stay tuned, as Centigrade Ind. Inc. gears up to make a splash in the world of hydrokinetic technology."

“My hydropower industry career started in 1987, when I became the HCI Publications Sales Manager and marketing consultant for the Hydro Review magazine. Our team was just like a family, proud to be serving the hydropower industry with important industry news, helpful market data and connecting our clients to support their business each day. Our team listened to the marketing needs of our industry, as we planned and launched our hydropower industry’s event, HYDROVISION International in 1994. I was in the meeting when we came up with the event name “HYDROVISION International” and served on the original team that planned HYDROVISION as the event for our industry, with experts serving as the driving force to 'shape hydro’s future' each year at our industry’s event. HYDROVISION is excited to be celebrating 30 years as our hydro industry’s worldwide event!”

“I’m proud to be celebrating 37 years of service to our fantastic hydropower industry this year, as “Hydro Howard!” the “hydro industry’s reliable marketing partner”. I’m here to support each client’s objectives. Clarion Events acquired HYDROVISION, and has developed helpful marketing and media resources that support our industry each day. Our Clarion team takes pride in working for our industry daily, with the same values of hydro community and family atmosphere! Our team of hydro industry experts is excited to partner together, support your business, and build hydro’s future, together!”

“Ethiopian Electric Power is a monopoly power-producing company with more than 92% of its generation source being hydropower. As a technical researcher, we carry out research in various areas including the transmission line and the hydropower generation. It could be solving the current problem or integrating innovations into the existing structures. This could involve developing new methods for harnessing hydropower more efficiently, enhancing the performance of existing hydroelectric plants, or addressing environmental and social considerations associated with hydropower projects.”

“The mid-Columbia River PUD’s provide more benefits beyond just power generation. During the spillway fracture of the Wanapum spillway, my team took advantage of the 33 ft. drawdown. We accelerated a project to rehabilitate a boat launch and took advantage of performing the work in the dry, as opposed to dredging underwater. We saved the ratepayers over $1M in construction costs.”

“My invention Hydraulic Energy Auto Recycle System. HEARS is self-sustainable off grid zero carbonic emissions electricity generator supplies everlasting F.O.C. the cost is merely 1/4 of the Solar system. Solar system would be phase out by my HEAR System. It's the only way to get rid of Global warming and the earth's environmental problems once for all. What's Energy? Static energy? Dynamic energy? Einstein relative law? Energy cannot be captured, created, consumed, circulating or recycled. It's the theorem of energy persistent. Why the earth has not Pole and South Pole spinning by itself. What is the earth spinning speed per hour. Einstein relative Law and Archimedean buoyancy theorem can save the earth global warming environmental problems by my invention.”

“Nestled in the heart of a bustling hydrodynamic landscape, the team at VRA faces a unique, exhilarating challenge every time the dam spills. Each spillage event is an opportunity, a pulse-pounding race against time where VRA's dedicated engineers and technicians gather crucial data that influences future operations and safety protocols. Armed with advanced tools and a keen eye, they scrutinize every inch of the dam during and after the spillage, ensuring its integrity and functionality. In these critical inspections lies the silent, yet thrilling heartbeat of VRA’s commitment to both safety and scientific inquiry. Each event is carefully documented, analyzed, and folded into a growing repository of knowledge that not only secures the dam but also enriches the broader field of hydrodynamic studies. With each spill, VRA is channeling the future of hydro management.”
